Personal History:
Telli was born during the Clone Wars on Ryloth and spent the first few years of her life hearing stories of how the great Republic Generals Windu, Kenobi, and Skywalker had fought back the Separatists to free Ryloth and her people.

When she was five years old slavers came to Ryloth looking for unique ‘stock’ to see to the Hutts and Telli became their main focus due to the rarity of her purple skin and pink eyes. Her village and family refused to give her up so the slavers returned at night, burning down the village and slaughtering everyone before taking Telli away. She was sold to Gardula the Hutt who had her trained as a dancer, where she quickly became the favorite.

Telli had noticed over the previous few years that when she lied to the guards and wished for them to believe her, that they always complied with her wishes. She’d used that to her advantage several times over the years, gaining extra food and free time to herself. How exactly it worked, she couldn’t tell you but she learned to perfect the skill.

When Telli was around thirteen years old Gardula made an announcement that Telli was to be shared with visitors, and she began plotting her escape. Two years later she put the plan into action: calmly walking through the Palace, heading towards where the chip controllers were kept hidden by Gardula’s trophy room. She claimed she was on a retrieval mission whenever stopped, which the guards were used to, and she was able to proceed unheeded. She’d meant to only pass the trophy room, but when she approached she felt something inside tugging at her and followed the feeling to an intricately carved cane displayed on the wall. She took the cane without really understanding why, grabbed her controller, and left the Palace without anyone trying to stop her.

For two years she wandered the galaxy, lying and stealing to survive, stowing away on ships to get from planet to planet, and relying on her dancing skills to keep herself fed when necessary. One day when she was seventeen she was trying to improve her pickpocketing skills and noticed a human who was completely focused on the strangely colored Zabrak at his side. She brushed passed and attempted to lift his credit chip. Unfortunately, he felt her movements, and when she tried to lie her way out, the Zabrak’s attention became focused on her and he demanded she come with them or be turned over to the stormtroopers. Going with them seemed the lesser of two evils and so she did.

The Zabrak eventually introduced himself as Maul and explained that she was using the Force to make others believe her lies, and he told her that Force Sensitives were being hunted and it was only a matter of time before she was noticed. He offered to train her, and give her a position in his organization, promising her the chance to be her own master and put her skills to good use.

When Telli was nineteen Maul was killed when his ship blew up; Telli left with another Zabrak named Mercy, worried Qi’ra would attempt to kill them for their loyalty to Maul. They wandered through the Inner Rim worlds, setting up wealthy marks for Telli to seduce and rob until they meet Luke. Telli had managed to drug him, knock him out, rob him, and leave him tied up in a hotel room, but he had easily tracked her down. After some shenanigans, Telli and Mercy helped Luke restore the Queen of Naboo to her throne and publicly disgraced the Governor appointed by the Emperor.

Mercy joins Black Squad and Telli is sent to be Luke’s eyes in a group of mercenaries being gathered to accomplish jobs Luke and Vader can’t be tied to. The group ends up being quite successful and eventually Luke joins them on a mission to free slaves on Pijal; Luke posing as a wealthy slave owner and Telli as his favored slave. The act is successful until the Emperor shows up and they have to flee.

Personality:
For the most part, people walk away from Telli with the initial belief that she's a flighty, vapid, airhead who only cares for pretty clothes and jewels. While they aren’t necessarily wrong about the clothes and jewels- after all, a girl’s gotta have fun- it’s only later that they’ll learn the rest was an act. In actuality, Telli is a loyal, intelligent, and deeply scarred person who hides her true self.

When meeting new people Telli can be standoffish, but once her respect and loyalty are earned she’ll do anything in her power to keep you safe. Maul’s supposed death was one of her biggest regrets, and she initially stayed with Mercy only out of loyalty to their shared brother. After meeting Luke it became clear Mercy wished to join Black Squadron and Telli ensured he could do so, accompanying him so he wouldn’t feel like he was abandoning her. Luke quickly earned her loyalty as well and she found a way to use her skills to assist him.

For having no formal schooling Telli is very intelligent and picks things up quickly. She’s fluent in four languages and is the one who keeps track of whatever cover story she and Mercy are currently using. She’s also able to adapt plans on the fly and extrapolate information about a target from brief meetings. She might not be able to make a plan to rebuild an entire government, but she can quickly find the best leverage to publicly humiliate an official into resigning.

The most guarded secret she has is how much pain her past brings her: She barely remembers the name her parents gave her, let alone her parents themselves, and she hates what happened to her entire village. While anger and hatred have never consumed her like they have other Dark Side users, Telli was quick to react violently towards slavers after she freed herself even when it was safer and smarter to let it go. This began changing after she almost got herself killed during a mission; Maul brought her to Dathomir and had Mother Talzin’s spirit put her through a series of trials which she failed in spectacular fashion. Eventually, the lesson to think before she acted, and to not let her past rule her sunk in and she resolved to do better.

Telli still has issues with slavers and always will, but she’s learning to live with what happened to her and to move on. She can do the most good for those in a similar situation if she keeps her calm, and she reminds herself of such daily. Her temper does still exist, but she doesn’t fly off the handle as easily any longer. Instead, she’s put her focus into helping free those in captivity and preventing vulnerable species from being taken.

Her personality isn’t all doom and gloom though; she teases those she considers friends, enjoys dirty jokes, and always has a sarcastic remark ready. Teasing Luke to make him turn various shades of red has quickly become her favorite past time, but she also enjoys reading and meditating. And caff, she’s completely addicted to caff.

She also has no real concept of modesty. The majority of her life was spent wearing very little, and she was required to disrobe whenever Gardula ordered her, so she tends to forget that not everyone is comfortable with her “wardrobe”. If asked she will put on additional layers, and she uses a long hooded cloak if she needs to pass unnoticed, but otherwise she tends to be wearing less than most would find comfortable.

Key themes: Found family, strength through adversity, lying your way through life, caffeine is love caffeine is life

Main Motivation: To ensure others do not have to endure the pain she did growing up.

Skills:
Force Sensitive:
The Force is an all-encompassing energy in the Star Wars universe that binds all living things together, with some individuals able to manipulate it. Telli’s connection is naturally inclined towards the dark side which is apparent from her abilities, but she can still manipulate objects with the force and use it to enhance her physical abilities.

Deception:
When Telli lies she can imbue her voice with the Force, performing a variation of the Jedi Mind Trick that can be almost impossible to resist. The lies can’t be obviously false, such as claiming her skin is a different color, but for the most part, she’s able to say whatever she wants and get away with it. This is by far her most used skill, and she’ll always try to lie her way out before fighting.

Force Lightning:
Telli has a natural affinity for lightning, finding it as natural to command as breathing. She doesn’t have to be angry to use it and doesn’t have any negative effects from it. The lightning she commands can range from small static shocks to storms that cover about 60 feet of space, as well as the more ‘usual’ form of lightning from the fingertips. Unfortunately, this affinity is hell on electronics and she has a bad habit of accidentally destroying various objects if she builds up a static charge. Socks + carpet = dead caff maker.

Siphon Life:
Telli is able to drain the life of others in order to heal herself. She can only use it on one person at a time, they have to be within 30’ of her, and she has to be able to see them.

Telekinesis:
Telli is able to manipulate objects and, for the most part, isn’t bothered by their shape or weight. Maul’s training had included throwing various objects at Telli from whatever vantage point he could find, and she’d quickly learned to ignore the physical appearance of whatever was being flung at her head.

Conditioning:
Due to her dance training, Telli is deceptively strong and extremely flexible. She can easily support her own body weight on her toes or her fingers and can enhance her jumps using the Force. She knows her flexibility and dexterity is an asset and ensures she trains to maintain it.

Lightsaber Combat
While not the best at fighting with a ‘saber, Telli can best most beings she’s come across. She’s most comfortable with a single blade, but she has enough experience with doubleblades to at least hold her own.

Item: Her sabercane with a green kyber crystal.

Sample:
Having more caff - coffee, whatever - probably wasn’t the smartest idea, Telli could feel her lekku twitching uncontrollably and her leg wouldn’t stop bouncing, but she had to find something to keep her mind off her current situation. She’d been stuck on this karking train for about three days and the forced confinement wasn’t sitting well with her; all she could think of was Gardula’s palace and having no agency of her own.

She took a deep breath, held it for a moment, and released it slowly before repeating the process. Calm, she was able to be calm. She wouldn't fall back into old habits and act without thought. Talzin’s lesson was still fresh in her mind and it would not be a surprise to learn the witch could monitor other worlds. She would cope with this confinement.

The breathing exercise helped clear her mind and allowed her to sense Luke. His familiar presence was a comfort and she allowed herself a moment to bask. He was younger than she was used to, but knowing he was here gave her strength and allowed her the illusion of choice in remaining. She would never leave him to face the unknown.

Her calm was disturbed by a door slamming behind her and the sound of raised voices; the younglings were out and about again. Telli grit her teeth and began walking toward the dining car once more. Now she really needed that caff.

Notes: I blame Skyla for how long this is. Sorry?
